Position Description:

Your responsibilities as a Buyer’s Assistant will include the following items:

  • Providing administrative assistance for the entirety of the purchasing process.
  • Making sure that orders are entered into the purchasing system in a timely manner.
  • Keeping the sample room’s control system in good working order.
  • Creating, balancing, and maintaining spreadsheets and reports that have been compiled.
  • Controlling and auditing the quality of the samples while maintaining quality assurance.
  • Developing positive relationships with suppliers that are mutually beneficial to both parties.
  • All of the preparations that were made before the presentations.
  • Office administration in general in addition to performing ad hoc tasks as needed by the department.


  • A qualification equivalent to a Matric is required at a minimum.
  • A working familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is required (ODBMS would be advantageous)
  • It is required that you have previous experience working as a Buyer’s Assistant.
