REQUIREMENTS
Equivalent to grade 12 Batho Pele values, the public service act, computer literacy, as well as the dynamics, culture, and language of the target community are among the core and process competencies. Knowledge of: Negotiation, Presentation, People Management, Time Management, Communication, Computer, and Numeracy.

“All shortlisted candidates for SMS positions will be put through a technical exercise that aims to test pertinent technical aspects of the work; the Department will explain the logistics of the exercise. The selection panel will advise candidates to take a general managerial competency assessment after the technical exercise and interview (in compliance with the DPSA directive on the implementation of competency-based assessments). Using the required DPSA SMS competence assessment tools, the competency assessment will examine general managerial competencies. Candidates who have been shortlisted for the below position will have their qualifications and security clearances verified.
It is still the responsibility of applicants with international credentials to have their credentials reviewed by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). Within one month of starting work, successful incumbents will be required to sign a performance agreement. The chosen candidate will have to declare their financial interests in compliance with the established rules. The candidate will be disqualified for failing to meet the condition.
