Requirements

Senior Certificate / Grade 12 plus three (3) years of related experience, or a Diploma or Degree in Security Management / Undergraduate (NQF Level 6) Security Management / Police. PSIRA Grade B Certificate in good standing or an equivalent qualification Experience working in a security-related workplace is a plus.
Knowledge of security policies and procedures. Minimum Information Standards Understanding (MISS). The Protection of Information Act is something that everyone should be aware of (POPIA). Computer literacy and a valid driver’s license are both required.

Duties

Security issues should be documented, reported, and dealt with as soon as possible. Keep a close eye on who enters and exits the building.
Prevent unauthorized access and notify authorities if there is a breach of security. Hold sessions to raise awareness. Ensure that MISS is implemented correctly and completely.
Utilize CCTV to conduct perimeter patrols. Not all incidents are recorded in the daily Occurrence Book (OB) for supervisory review. Provide recommendations on what equipment should be purchased for the Control Room function in order to keep the building secure and suspicious activities under control.
Compile reports on all issues that happened and how they were resolved, and advise Management on how to avoid a recurrence.
Construct the facility’s security operational plan.
